Álvaro Monfort, new president of the Loreto Fiesta Commission
Monfort takes over from Vicent Gavilà who has led the organising committee for the last seven years.
The Fiesta Commission of the festivities honouring the patron saint of the port, Mare de Déu de Loreto (also known as the “port fiesta”) has announced the appointment of a new president. As announced by its outgoing president, Vicente Gavilà, at the beginning of the last edition of the fiesta, this year it was time to elect a new person to lead the commission after his six-year mandate.
After following the process, the members of the fiesta commission placed their trust in Álvaro Monfort, who will assume the position for the period 2024-2026.
Monfort has been linked to the port festivities for many years and has been a member of the Fiesta Commission since 2013, assuming the role of secretary in 2016, and now he is taking a further step to lead the coordination of the annual festivities.
The Fiesta Committee thanked Vicent Gavilá through its social networks for his dedication and commitment to the Loreto festivities.
