Catral-Castrum CF was formed in 1998 as Atlético de Catral CF and it has played much of its football in the bottom two tiers of regional football in the Comunidad Valenciana.

Since 2006, the club has played mainly in the second level, except for one season at the top when it won promotion to the Regional Preferente as champions of Group 9 of the Primera Regional at the end of the 2021-22 season. The following season, the club finished 11th and missed the cut to form the new elite Lliga Comunitat and returned to the second level, renamed the Primera FFCV.

Last season, playing under its new name Catral-Castrum CF, it finished in 8th spot.
