Xàbia celebrates sporting talent at 18th edition of Sports Gala
The evening will include the presentation of the Maurice Cheutin Award in recognition of development and promotion of sport in the town.
Xàbia will celebrate the XVIII edition of the Gala de Deporte on Friday 27th September, an event that will pay tribute to the most outstanding athletes of the municipality and to the fundamental values of sport. In this edition, the local council will reward the effort and dedication of local athletes as well as recognise those who have worked tirelessly to promote sport in the town.
One of the most anticipated moments of the gala will be the presentation of the Maurice Cheutin Award, a special recognition given to a person who has contributed in a selfless and significant way to the development and promotion of sport in Xàbia. This award, named after Maurice Cheutin in his honour, seeks to highlight the commitment of those who have promoted sport in Xàbia.
In addition, during the gala, awards for sporting merit will be given to local athletes who have achieved excellent results in their respective disciplines throughout the year. These awards focus on celebrating the achievements and constant efforts of the athletes who represent Xàbia.
During the gala, the outstanding athlete of Xàbia in 2024 will also be awarded, a recognition aimed at a non-professional figure who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and passion in their discipline. This person will not only stand out for their achievements, but also for their ability to inspire others and be an example of the values that sport promotes.
As part of the event, a video will be shown focusing on inclusive sport, highlighting fundamental values such as integration, effort and personal improvement. This presentation will show the importance of sport as a tool to promote inclusion and motivate athletes of all ages and abilities.

The 18th Xàbia Sports Gala promises to be an evening full of emotion, recognition and celebration, where sport and its fundamental values will be the main protagonists. The event will be held on Friday 27th September at 6.30pm at the Palau Municipal d’Esports M.B.A in Avenida dels Furs.
