The opening round will take place over the last weekend in August.

A total of 348 football clubs from across the Comunidad Valenciana will compete in the 2024-25 edition of the Copa Comunitat Mediterrànea ‘La Nostra Copa’, a cup competition that determines the club that will represent the FFCV (the Football Federation of the Comunidad Valenciana) in the Copa del Rey national cup competition the following season.

The past three editions have been won by CD L’Alcora, CD Soneja (although they were not allowed to compete in the Copa del Rey due to their promotion to the national league system and were replaced by CD Buñol) and Manises CF.

This season, there will be 29 teams from the Lliga Comunitat, 59 teams from the Primera FFCV (including CD Jávea), 106 teams from the Segona FFCV and 154 teams from the Tercera FFCV, the lowest tier in the regional league system.

The First Round will take place over the weekend of August 31st/September 1st and will feature teams from the Tercera FFCV (although some teams from the Primera and Segona may feature to make up the numbers). Teams from the Lliga Comunitat, the top tier of the regional league system, will be exempt from the earlier rounds.

The matches will be one-legged with the home side being the team which is in the lower division. In the earlier rounds, the ties will be regionalised to reduce travelling time and costs with the FFCV providing financial assistance for the match officials.

Last season CD Jávea were knocked out of the cup in the Round of 32 by Vinarós CF after defeating Rafalafena Castell on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the previous round. In the second edition, the club was kicked out of the competition for fielding an ineligible player in the 2-1 win over CD Pedreguer. The opponents complained that Javi Hernandez shouldn’t have played due to the fact that he was serving a four-match suspension after being sent off in an earlier league match. And in the inaugural edition, CD Jávea crashed out of the competition after a 4-1 mauling at UD CF Calpe.
