The Arts Society Marina Alta continues with its spring season of lectures with an evening dedicated to one of the most iconic architects of the 21st century, Zaha Hadid. Architectural historians recognise Hadid for her passion for architecture and innovative designs. Her reputation was stellar and glo.

‘Zaha Hadid: Architectural Superstar’ will be given by Dr. Helen Sijsling. Zaha Hadid was a star architect, a teacher at many prestigious universities, an artist and a designer. She died at 65, at the peak of her career working on 36 projects. However, her fame came late in her career and for many years she did not get assignments though she won many competitions. She is a woman of extraordinary perseverance and courage who in the end smashed the crystal ceiling of the world of architecture.

The lectures will take place on Wednesday 3rd April at the Salones Canor in Teulada at 11.00am (doors open 10.00am) and at the Casa de Cultura in Plaça del Baix in the heart of the historic centre of Xàbia at 7.30pm (doors open 6.45pm). Both lectures are priced at 15 euros for guests but are free for members of The Arts Society and seats can be booked in advance by contacting the Arts Society by email at marinaalta@theartssociety.org.
