MAYOR AND ARENAL COUNCILLOR TO MEET RESIDENTS IN THE ARENAL

The meeting will be on Thursday 15th July at 7.00pm at the Civic Punt in Avenida del Pla.

Residents in the Arenal have been invited to a special meeting with town hall representatives on Thursday 15th February at 7.00pm in the Cívic Punt in Avenida de Pla.

The meeting will be chaired by mayor Rosa Cardona who will be accompanied by the councillor responsible for the Arenal neighbourhood, Teresa Legay, and attendees will be able to convey their opinions and demands to the representatives who will transfer them to the relevant municipal department in order to deal with them as soon as possible.

The councillor will also be presenting the different local government projects that will affect the Arenal neighbourhood, proposals that the local government team wants to be able to involve the local residents for their opinions and agreement where necessary.

The meeting is the latest of a series of forums which are being organised by the local government to address the demands of the residents of the different urban centres of the town and establish a direct channel of communication between the neighbourhood councillors and the people who live in them.

The first of these meetings was held last month in the historic centre and was attended by the mayor and the responsible councillor Juanlu Cardona. During the meeting, residents called for an greater police presence and more control over the scooters and bicycles that travel in the pedestrian areas as well as special monitoring for the penya ‘casals’
