Turisme registers 7,959 reservations in two months for Travel Voucher for first half of 2022

The Regional Tourism Secretary, Fransesc Colomer, chaired a meeting of the Bono Viaje Monitoring Commission, in which the main regional tourist accommodation associations and travel agencies participate, and during which the results of the first two months since the launch of the 2022 travel voucher were presented.
The commission reportes that a total of 7,959 reservations were registered for trips by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, which would take place during the first period of the Bono Viaje 2022 initiative, from Monday 17th January 2022 to Tuesday 31st May 2022.
Colomer explained that during this first period, total of 66,460 users have registered and that Turisme has already distributed 11,500 vouchers, a figure that he said has increased every week with new applications. He highlighted that the prior appointment progress for this latest edition of the initiative has made it possible to better manage demand without unnecessary delays, which has give a more positive and dynamic start to the programme, for which some 15 million euros has been allocated.
Successful applicants to participate in the Bono Viaje can choose between a short stay with a minimum of two nights to benefit from a 50% discount up to a maximum of 400 euros, or a longer stay with a minimum of five consecutive nights to benefit from a 60% discount up to a maximum of 600 euros.
Most reservations that have made during the first two months, some 6,923 (85%), have been for short stay accommodation whilst long-stay reservations are estimated at 1,036. The average spend per reservation has been estimated at just over 540 euros for short-stays and over 860 euros for long-stays.
Colomer added that, whilst it must be appreciated that during the first two months of the programme, the evolution of the health situation in the Valencian region continues to be uncertain, everything is indicating that things will improve from spring.
More than 1,000 affiliated companies
Currently, the Bono Viaje 2022 initiative has 1,024 participating companies (455 from the province of Alicante, 201 from Castellón and 368 from Valencia), including travel agencies, hotels, tourism apartment blocks and complexes, campsites, rural accommodation and housing management companies for tourist use, all of them registered in the Registro de Turisme Comunitat Valenciana.
Colomer added that the voucher scheme also includes discounts of different cultural, nature, active tourism and gastronomic tourist options to make the experience more complete.
