The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig has encouraged the region’s citizens to buy Valencian products to support economic and emotional recovery as well as to enjoy the Christmas holidays with “responsible joy”.

During the presentation of the 6th edition of the regional festive campaign, the president highlighted the slogan ‘El Nadal és Valencià’ which refers to the large number of products made in the Valencian region that will be present this Christmas in the most households. He has thus recalled, for example, that the region is the leading producer of toys and that 60% of the turrón (nougat) sold comes from the Valencian territory.

“We need 2022 to be the year of hope, and it can start with this Christmas, which is Valencian,” said the president, who has underlined the symbol of emotional reunion that these dates represent, especially after the hard times of the pandemic , and has appealed to “serenity” and “prudence” to enjoy the holidays with “responsible joy”.

The campaign ‘El Nadal és Valencià’ is an initiative of the Generalitat Valenciana to support the productive sectors of the Comunidad Valenciana, to which different entities and associations related to the industry and the tradition of the land have joined. The president thanked them for their involvement in the campaign and their contribution to making the Comunidad Valenciana known outside of its borders.

The event has also served to publicize the activities with which the Generalitat intends to bring Christmas to Valencians and that will take place in different spaces of the three provinces, among which the exhibition ‘Productes de la Terra’ stands out, open days to visit the Palau de la Generalitat, concerts and storytelling.

This was explained by the general director of Institutional Promotion, Fernanda Escribano, who stressed that ‘El Nadal és Valencià’ is “much more than a campaign”, because it reflects the support of the Generalitat for Christmas products with a Valencian stamp, as well as to the unions and businesses, “which are also a fundamental part of the economy” of the Comunidad Valenciana.

After the presentation of the campaign, the President toured the exhibition ‘Productes de la Terra’, which is part of the Christmas programme and which will house the Salón Dorado of the Palau de la Generalitat until January 7th, and then turned on the building’s Christmas lights.
