Thursday 30th September 2021 – PRESS RELEASE with Mike Smith
Xàbia Council has reached an agreement for the exchange of tax information with the Notarial College of Valencia to provide more facilities and streamline procedures for citizens when processing a sale. The collaboration was signed by mayor José Chulvi and the dean of the college, Francisco Cantos Viñals, in a ceremony this morning, which was also attended by José Antonio Pérez Ramos on behalf of the notaries of the town.
As a result of the agreement, notaries will be able to directly carry out some procedures related to local tax management at the time of the sale or transfer of a property. Among them, they can request information online on outstanding IBI debts that the property have possess (thus, warning the acquirer) or liquidating the capital gain tax on the Increase in the Value of Urban Land (IIVTNU).
Xàbia therefore joins the Framework Agreement signed in 2009 between the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and the General Council of Notaries (CGN) to quickly and safely improve the management of IBI and IIVTNU, thanks to the help of notaries and their technological advances.
