4 out of 5 hotel beds along the Valencian coast have been reserved for August

Hotels in the interior expect an occupancy rate of over 73% whilst campsites are almost completely full.


Hotels along the coast of the Comunidad Valenciana are entering the month of August with 78.2% of their beds reserved, according to a survey carried out by Turisme Comunidad Valenciana with a representatives sample of hotels across the three provinces and reservations are expected to continue to increase in the coming weeks.

The survey has also discovered that tourism apartments are entering the peak of the high season with reservations of over 83% whilst hotels in the interior regions of the autonomous community currently have over 73% of their beds reserved for the month of August. Campsites along the coast of the Comunidad Valenciana are entering the month with the best results, with some 95% of chalets reserved and 90% of plots taken.

The Minister for Innovations, Industry, Trade and Tourism, Nuria Montes, expressed her optimism regarding the results of the survey, describing the 2024 summer season as being “very dynamic” which continues to confirm the full recovery of tourism in the Valencian region. She added that the survey results are almost certain to be bettered in the first few days of August as last-minute reservations are taken into consideration.

Survey Results by Province

By province, the survey has shown that hotels of the coast of Castellón are entering the month of August with more than 70% of their beds reserved whilst those along the Valencian coast expected almost 78% of their available beds to be taken, and those on the coast of Alicante – not including Benidorm – starting the month with more than 75% of their beds reserved. Almost 86% of available beds in hotels in Benidorm have been reserved in August whilst those in the city of Valencia expect almost 78% of their available beds to be taken.

With regards to tourist apartments, more than 88% of those located on the coast of Castellon have been reserved in August, followed by those in Benidorm (85%), those along the Alicante coast (84%) and those along the Valencian coast (75%).

Hotels based in the interior of the province of Valencia expect 80% of their available beds to be occupied during August, followed by almost 73% of those in the province of Castellón, and 57.3% of those in the interior of the province of Alicante.

Occupancy Data for July

The survey carried by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana also provided provisional occupancy results for the month of July, which suggest that the average occupancy rate for all hotels along the coast of the Comunidad Valenciana has topped 86%, similar to the figures recorded in July 2023. The survey also suggests that average occupancy in hotels in the interior of the region reached just over 75% in July, an increase of 4.3 points on July 2023.

With regards to tourist apartments, the average occupancy rate was over 78& with those in Benidorm seeing some 88% of their available spaces taken.
