The Governing Body of the Moors and Christians, together with the ‘filaes’, are mobilizing in order to ensure that this July’s fiesta will be the biggest yet by offering an attractive programme to both residents and visitors to the town during the high season.
One of the initiatives that has been launched is the extraordinary draw which offers a total of 1,000 euros. The governing body has issued tickets, priced at 3 euros each, marked with a four digit number ranging between 0001 and 9999.
The holder of the ticket with the number that matches that last four digits of the first prize of the State National Lottery drawn on Saturday 15th July, the first day of the fiesta, will win 750 euros whilst the holder of the ticket that match the last four numbers of the second prize drawn on the same day will win 250 euros.
Tickets will be available from the ‘filaes’ with part of the proceeds going to the governing body and part to the Filà itself that sold the ticket. Thus this is another way of contributing to the investment needed to stage this popular fiesta and supporting the efforts made by the men and women who come together to stage the spectacular Gala Parades that fill the streets with colour and music during the third weekend in July.
