100 PEOPLE PARTICIPATE IN TREE PLANTING DAY IN XÀBIA
There will be a second tree-planting day in two weeks for two of the municipality’s school.
A hundred people participated in the Comunidad Valenciana’s ‘Día de l’Arbre’ last Sunday which was organized by the Centre Excursionista Xàbia (CEX) and the Department of Environment and Ecological Transition.
People of all ages made their way to Cala de la Granadella from where they moved to the point that the technical staff had chosen for the reforestation. After receiving the explanations on how to do the correct planting, the activity began.
In total, 400 units of species were planted such as European Fan Palm, Carob, Mediterranean Hackberry, European Olive, Mastic and Strawberry. Volunteers from the Protección Civil were in charge of watering the newly planted species.
The councilor responsible for the Environment and Ecological Transition, Juanlu Cardona (PP), thanked all those attending this activity organized together with the CEX and explained that in two weeks there will be another special tree-planting day, this time with two of the municipality’s schools.
