A hundred people participated in the Remo en Rosa event on Sunday, organized by the Club Náutico Jávea and María Ferrer, with the special collaboration of the Rotary Club Jávea, to spread the benefits of the sport of rowing among women, and in particular among those who are suffering or have suffered from breast cancer.

The club’s rowing section, headed by Valentina García, organized different groups to go rowing in the two boats owned by the yacht club. A statement from the club explained that there were about 80 people who went out to row under the orders of the coaches, Telmo Irigoyen and Francisco Martínez, with tours around the port of Xàbia and as well as the area in front of La Grava beach.

All participants were also able to perform warm-up exercises under the guidance of José Luis Boronat Roda and at the end they received a snack provided by the Rotary Club Jávea.

The person in charge of the rowing section, Tenin García, thanked the initiative for its support since, apart from the people who came to row, “there were many who came to the club to make a donation”. In addition, a large part of the participants have decided to enroll in the Rowing School.

For her part, María Ferrer, highlighted the importance of initiatives like this and, after thanking Tenin García and the Club Náutico Jávea for the momentum, she wanted to highlight the fact that many people came “to contribute their bit for cancer research”. In this sense, Ferrer suggested that this special rowing day will be repeated next year.

The Club Náutico Jávea and María Ferrer will announce the amount of the amount collected in the coming days, money that will be allocated entirely to Incliva, one of the research institutes specialized in cancer treatments in the Comunidad Valenciana.
